About Us
Non-Profit Organization
TorreyPinesPopWarner (TPPW) is a non-profit organization chartered under the National Pop Warner Little Scholars program offering tackle football and cheerleading. TPPW competes within the Wescon Pop Warner Region which serves Arizona, Hawaii, Southern California and Southern Nevada.
TPPW's home field is Torrey Pines H.S. Falcon Stadium in San Diego. Our team colors are Cardinal and Gold. All teams have a derivative name of The Falcons, the mascot name for the Midget team and all the TPHS athletic teams.
The Fall Football and Cheer Season
The Pop Warner Football and Cheer season typically runs from Aug. 1 until mid-November. Tackle and cheer seasons may be extended due to divisional, local, national playoffs and invitational games. Some cheer squads may operate through February depending on their competition schedule. Flag season typically runs from Aug. 1 to mid-October.
History
TorreyPinesPopWarner is a youth football and cheer program with an emphasis on developing athletes while promoting safety, fun and participation for all. We strive for all our participants to advocate good sportsmanship, respect, and to honor the game and their teammates. Through the encouragement of teamwork, self-discipline, leadership and academic achievement, our commitment is to promote a positive culture that builds self esteem and instills the importance of both athletics and scholastics, which go hand-in-hand to foster confident, responsible, well-rounded young men and women.
Our goal is to encourage and increase youth participation in flag football, tackle football and cheerleading by providing a safe and positive playing environment for all participants, and to instill life-long values of teamwork, dedication and a superior work ethic in the classroom and on the field.
TPPW is typically open to kids ages 8 to 14 that live within the Torrey Pines Pop Warner Boundaries. TPPW follows the physical boundary of the Torrey Pines High School attendance boundaries, which shall include the boundaries of the Del Mar, Solana Beach and Rancho Santa Fe school districts, with the exception of the area north of Escondido Creek in the Rancho Santa Fe School District. TPPW also includes students within the 4S ranch boundary. Participants with a residence in these areas or attending a school in these areas are considered in-boundary participants. Participants outside these boundaries are encouraged to sign up with their home association. TPPW participants from outside TPPW's boundary must obtain a waiver from their home Pop Warner association to play within TPPW.
