Torrey Pines Pop Warner (TPPW) is a non-profit organization chartered under the Pop Warner Little Scholars program offering tackle football and cheerleading.
TPPW's home field is Torrey Pines H.S. Falcon Stadium in San Diego. Colors are Gold and Cardinal. All teams have a derivative name of Falcons, the mascot name for the Midget team and the TPHS athletic teams.
Pop Warner season runs from Aug. 1 until mid-November. For Tackle Football and Cheer practices are 5x per week during August, 3x per week in Sep-Nov plus games every Saturdays. Flag season runs Aug. 1 to mid-October. Tackle and cheer seasons may be extended due to playoffs and invitational games; some cheer squads operate through February.
Torrey Pines Pop Warner provides a quality youth football and cheer program with emphasis on developing athletes while promoting safety, fun and participation for all; to advocate good sportsmanship, respect, and to honor the game. Through the encouragement of teamwork, self-discipline, leadership and academic achievement, our commitment is to promote a positive culture that builds self esteem and instills the importance of both athletics and scholastics, which go hand-in-hand to foster confident, responsible, well-rounded young men and women.
Our goal is to encourage and increase youth participation in football and cheerleading by providing a safe and positive playing environment for all participants, and to instill life-long values of teamwork, dedication and a superior work ethic in the classroom and on the field.
TPPW is open to kids ages 8 to 14 that live within the Torrey Pines Pop Warner Boundaries. Overall, our boundaries are the Torrey Pines-San Dieguito Union High School District. Any student who is living in this high school district and is in the subsection of the district assigned to Torrey Pines High School is eligible for TPPW.
Geographic: Cities of Del Mar, Solana Beach, Rancho Santa Fe (including Fairbanks Ranch), and Carmel Valley (including Sorrento Hills). Southern boundary is the Los Penasquitos Creek and the Eastern boundary is Via Abertura (east boundary of Fairbanks Ranch and Rancho Santa Fe Farms subdivisions).
At one time the association served participants in all the coastal communities from La Jolla north to Leucadia. Today, TPPW serves the communities of Cardiff, Encinitas, Leucadia, Olivenhain, and north Rancho Santa Fe. The physical boundary follows the Torrey Pines High School attendance boundaries, defined by the San Dieguito Union High School District as an area that, "...shall include the boundaries of the Encinitas and Cardiff school districts and the area south of Escondido Creek in Rancho Santa Fe district." (Source: SDUHSD Website) Participants with a residence in this area or attending a school in this area are considered in-boundary participants. Participants outside these boundaries are encouraged to sign up with their home association. TPPW participants from outside TPPW's boundary must obtain a waiver from their home Pop Warner association to play within TPPW.
