How are CHEER squads formed?

Squads are drafted by VP of Cheer and squad formation committee as follows:

1. All players will receive a Priority Number on a first-come, first-served basis at the in-person registration based on West Coast Conference Rules. Some players may be placed on a wait list if there are not enough open roster spots at their eligible level.

2. Players will be categorized into eligible levels based on their age. Specific divisions may be requested, however squads will be formed with the focus of safety and balance and specific levels are not guaranteed.

3. Any player who does not attend skills evaluations will be placed on a team by the Board and may not be the desired level.

4. Interested participants who do not sign up during initial registration will be placed on a waiting list. After the draft is completed and squads are formed, participants may be added if space is available and it is not too late to order uniforms.

Can I request my child to be on a specific team, for a certain coach, or with a friend/carpool buddy?

The only requests automatically granted are for siblings playing on the same team. Any other request must be approved by the VP of Cheer AND the TPPW Board of Directors. Only in rare and exceptional cases will requests be granted.
